The First CBC Tweetup
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the CBC Tweetup with my good friend, Lynne Robson from A Crazy Chameleon Web Development. (Who by the way is the person who designed my fabulous new website)!
Apparently there were 109 ‘tweeters’ in attendance at the CBC Tweetup along with CBC staff and personalities. There were also guided tours of CBC. We had a great time posing for pics in the newsroom! And the food was divine with treats from Cakeology (I totally blew my diet).
The highlight of the event was when Lynne and I had the pleasure of meeting CBC Weekend Radio Host, Terry Macleod who treated us to a radio interview that he later aired on the CBC Weekend Morning Show with Terry MacLeod on Sunday, February 15.
Lynne and I always have LOTS to say when it comes to Social Media and we really enjoy talking about it! Terry has invited us to take part in additional interviews about Facebook and LinkedIn. I’m really looking forward to that!
I think it’s really important for businesses to learn about how to properly use Social Media when representing their company online. I see far too many businesses using personal profiles on LinkedIn and Facebook to represent their businesses – and there’s nothing impressive about using Social Media wrong when you’re a business. I’m looking forward to discussing this further with Terry in our upcoming interviews.
Listen to the above interview to hear what Lynne and I had to say about Twitter at the CBC Tweetup. I’m looking forward to the next one!
Here’s a pic of Lynne and I at the CBC Tweetup.
